Tehran (Iran) hosted the 3rd Asian Deaf Football Championship 2023, the 3rd football tournament among the national teams of the Asian Deaf Sports Confederation. The title was defended by the host team of Iran.
The tournament was originally supposed to be hosted by Korea, but in May 2022, Korea withdrew from hosting the tournament due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
According to the results of the draw, 10 teams were divided into 2 groups of 5 teams each. Ten teams (2 group winners and 5 teams with the best second places) have qualified for the final tournament of the 2023 Asian Futsal Championships.
The teams of Iran and Kuwait advanced to the final tournament, which ended with the victory of the Iranian team with a score of 6:4.
Four teams from Iran, Kuwait, Japan and Iraq will take part in the World Deaf Futsal Championships in Brazil.
Passed by a large audience and created a huge interest in all sports football in Asia, at times surpassing the number of spectators of Asia’s main sports tournament.
I must say that the Deaf Sports Federation, the Organizing Committee of Iran and the President of Asia, headed by Pargar Mohammed, organized a chic football festival for the deaf.
