The election of the head of FIFA took place at the 73rd congress of the organization in Kigali (Rwanda) on Thursday.
Infantino was the only candidate for the position. There was no voting procedure, the delegates supported the re-election with applause.
According to the FIFA statute, in the case of the nomination of a single candidate for the presidency, the Congress can elect him with an approval in the form of applause. Infantino’s term of office is calculated until 2027.
