The Iranian junior team – U21 became the world futsal champion for the deaf in 2024.
The winner of the 2024 world deaf futsal championship, which took place in Astana (Kazakhstan), has been determined.
In the decisive match, the Iranians achieved a small feat: they led 2:0, the “Kazakhstan” managed to win back a few minutes before the final whistle (3:3). The fate of the trophy was decided in an additional match, in which Iran was more successful – 7:4.
Yes, Kazakhstan played a heroic match for the “gold” of the world deaf futsal championship for the deaf.
We would like to add that the bronze medalist of the tournament was Brazil, which defeated Uzbekistan in the match for third place with a score of 7:3.
According to the president of DIFA (International Deaf Football Association) Iakov Frenkel, the organization of the U21 junior futsal championship exceeded all expectations:
I would like to thank the Department for the Development of Sports and Tourism of Kazakhstan for their support, as well as the local residents for their warm welcome. The World Championship has significantly increased interest in futsal and contributed to the development of this sport. Our community is growing rapidly. Our youth have shown a bright and clear example to all representatives of professional sports, how to fight and defend the honor of the country in the international arena.
We are proud that a strong futsal team has emerged in the Middle East, which will participate in our future tournaments.
Many thanks to the President of the Football and Futsal Federation, Mr. Meirambek Makhambetov, for his contribution to the development of the U21 World Deaf Futsal Championship.
How volunteers created the atmosphere at the 2024 Futsal Championship, more than thousands of volunteers work at the Futsal Championship. It is impossible to imagine the current tournament, which is generally recognized as the best in history, without them. They are the ones who help foreign teams navigate unfamiliar cities and quickly resolve any issues they may have. The charge of cheerfulness, apparently, turns out to be mutual.
They often cheer you up, they are cheerful guys. Thanks to them!
DIFA and ICSD held a seminar on anti-doping for participants in the futsal championship among youth (under 21 years of age). The anti-doping program is based on three pillars: control, prevention and education.
“Our goal here is more about education and prevention.” Over the course of two lectures, participants learned how a doping test is performed, how to determine whether a drug contains prohibited substances, who to contact with questions and what to do in a given situation.
Deaf futsal referees from the Netherlands were invited.
We are seeing a growing number of qualified and accredited deaf judges, referees and judges at the championships. DIFA was very glad that the judges coped with the difficult task.
The opening ceremony of the world deaf futsal championship was attended by the ICSD President Mr. Adam Kosa, and of the ICSD sports director Jürgen Endress.
The opening ceremony of the U21 World Deaf Futsal Championship inspired everyone and created a festive atmosphere that will be with us throughout the ten days of the tournament. Futsal is a sport that can be practiced by everyone, DIFA and ICSD are proud to make it accessible to both athletes and visitors, as well as residents of Kazakhstan.”
The global futsal community is growing rapidly and for us this is a historically significant event that will bring the sport into the world of deaf sports.
