In 2023, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation celebrated the centenary of its formation. And on this occasion, anniversary medals were established, awarded to the most outstanding sports figures. Deaflympics athletes, coaches and specialists also received their medals.

On January 23, 2024, the President of the Russian Deaflympics Committee, Robert Dzantiev, visited the office of the Central Board of the All-Russian Society of the Deaf on 1905 Street, where he presented an anniversary medal to the President of the Vogue, Stanislav Ivanov. It is not surprising that Stanislav Alexandrovich received such an honorary medal. After all, the president of VOG participated in the Deaflympics Games four times: in 1993 in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1997 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and in 2001 in Rome, he won his first Deaflympics medals, becoming a bronze medalist of the games. And in 2005, in Melbourne, Australia, Stanislav Ivanov, paired with Rushan Dayanov, became the first ever Deaflympics champion in beach volleyball!

There, Robert Dzantiev presented an anniversary medal to another famous Deaflympian, a legend of deaf football, former coach of the men’s and women’s Deaflympics football teams of Russia, and now the president of the Deaf International Football Association (DIFA) Iakov Frenkel!

Interestingly, Iakov Matveevich’s student presented the award to his teacher. It was under Iakov Frenkel that Robert Dzantiev joined the Russian deaf football team back in 2001!

The Russian Deaflympics Committee, represented by President Robert Dzantiev and his staff, wholeheartedly congratulates Stanislav Ivanov and Iakov Frenkel on receiving such a high award and wishes not to stop there!
