In Memoriam: Mr. Ralph Fernandez

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of ICSD Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ralph Fernandez, at his home in Washington, D.C. Mr. Fernandez’s remarkable contributions to the Deaf sports community will leave a lasting legacy.

As a former Deaflympian in cycling and sport director of cycling, Mr. Fernandez was a passionate advocate for athletes and an innovator in advancing the mission of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD). He was the proud designer of the iconic ICSD/Deaflympics logo and played a pivotal role in developing the Office Management System (OMS), which has revolutionized ICSD’s operational efficiency.

The global Deaf sports community mourns the loss of an extraordinary leader, visionary, and friend. Details regarding Mr. Fernandez’s memorial and tributes will be forthcoming.
