*Official Inspection of the 2027 Worrld Deaf Football Championships in Australia*
In preparation for the 2027 World Deaf Football Championships, DIFA President Iakov FRENKEL and ICSD & DIFA Director of Football Brice ALLAIN visited Sydney, Australia from 8 to 15 February 2025 at the invitation of Deaf Football Australia. The purpose of the visit is to inspect the sporting facilities, accommodation and meet with key stakeholders including the Department of Sport and Football Australia.
The championship, which will be held in Parramatta and Sydney, is expected to feature 10-12 women’s teams and between 16 and 24 men’s teams, depending on the number of confirmed participants. DIFA and DFA will make every effort to gather relevant information regarding the organisation and delivery of the event.
DIFA would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr Brian SEYMOUR, Secretary of the Deaf Football Alliance of Australia (DFA), for his efforts in organising and supporting the bid. Special thanks go to the President of the Australian Deaf Football Federation, Mr Raymond YOUNAN, and the President of the Australian Deaf Sport Federation, Mr Phil HARPER, for their support of this project. This bid has been formally endorsed by the DIFA Executive Committee and the ICSD.
Pending final confirmation, the championship is scheduled to commence at the beginning of November 2027. Australia will host the opening match, followed by the official ceremony. The competition will run from 19 November to 04 December 2027. DIFA continues to work closely with the Australian authorities and sporting organisations to ensure the success of this global event.
