Where and when will the next World Deaf Football Championships take place?
The 2027 Deaf World Football Championships are a major international football event, eagerly anticipated by the global deaf football community.
Looking back at the previous edition
The last edition, held in Malaysia in 2023, made history with one of the most thrilling finals ever. Ukraine claimed the world title, defeating Japan 2–1 in an intense and spectacular match.
Australia 2027: venues and dates
All matches of the 2027 Deaf World Football Championships will take place from 19 November to 4 December 2027 in two Australian cities:
Parramatta
Sydney
The Opening Ceremony and the Final will be held in Parramatta at the prestigious CommBank Stadium, an exceptional setting for this global event.
A historic edition
For the first time in history, the men’s competition will feature 24 national teams, following a joint decision by DIFA and the local organizer, Deaf Football Australia (DFA), in September 2024.
Special attention is also being given to the growth of women’s deaf football:
8 to 12 women’s teams will participate, marking a key milestone for the international development of women’s deaf football.

The final list of qualified countries will be determined after the continental qualification tournaments.
These tournaments will take place in 2026, and the final list of participants will be confirmed before October 2026.
Opening Ceremony
The ceremony will take place on 19 November 2027 in Parramatta, ahead of the first official match, which will see the Australian men’s national team take the field. Opponents will be determined during the draw, scheduled between June and September 2027.
DIFA Congress 2027
The Deaf International Football Association (DIFA) Congress will be held on Saturday, 27 November 2027, from 9:00 to 18:00.
At this congress:
Host countries for the 2031 and 2035 Championships will be officially announced (application deadline: 31 December 2026)
The DIFA President and Executive Committee members will be elected
The detailed congress program will be shared three months prior to the event.
